Hi all

Am having a problem with trying to get the fan to operate on k100rs. I have bypassed relay and fan operates no problem. I have tested temperature probe on block and get right resistance reading. I also jumped across terminals and temperature light comes on.

If i earth out the violet and green, think colour is wire, the fan kicks in. I have changed over relay as had two lying around and still nothing.

Do you think both relays are duff?

This is driving me nuts:D:D

For info it is back together after rebuild so has never worked since it is back together.

Help

Smoll:D:D

it is not unknown that corrosion has set up in the temperature sensor connector (both the pins in the sensor ...and the socket  that connects to it )

keep this in mind

although the ecu side of the sensor might measure correctly it is no guarantee that the side of the sensor that goes to the temp relay unit is all good

if in doubt ...remove and clean the parts properly before dismissing the sensor as faulty ,,,or the temp relay switching unit for that matter

good luck !

i tested all wiring today all good. i tested temp sensor and cold it read 1800 ohms which appears wrong, is this right. I earthed out e pin with relay plugged in and started bike and fan came on. Earths are all good as is continuity of wiring. Does this appear to point to faulty temp sensor?

It works. After fitting a new temp sensor the fan kicked in no problem. I could feel the thermostat opening and it was very nerve racking waiting for fan to start.

Thanks for all the advice brilliant forum SmileVery Happy:D
