Doing a spline service on my K75RT. When I removed the nut holding the lower end of the rear spring strut to the mounting stud in the final drive it had seized on the stud and the stud unscrewed along with it from the final drive. What’s the best way to re-install the stud?  No mention of torquing values in Haynes (I’m reluctant to torque it in too tight for fear of cracking the final drive). There was no sign of anything like loc-tite on the stud.

two nuts on the stud (torqued together) to get it in and seated.  You can use loctite and stop when the effort increases significantly.

Thanks B-Man. Had used the two nuts torqued together thing but didn't feel comfortable about how tight I was tightening the stud into the final drive housing. Will do the loctite thing as you suggest.
