I've noticed a few interesting pics of K's on here, and have been recently trying some new angles on my own pics.
getting down and dirty is just part of the fun in getting that unique pic of your K.
Trying to get the smokestacks into the scene.

Whilst out exchanging some K parts this morning I experimented a bit more.
We are entering into our second week of winter here , mild temps in the high teens and the magnificent autumn tones are still out there to be captured.
The low flying shot has grabbed my interest so I hope these give a few others some inspiration for their own K's.

What I was trying to achieve here is to grab a good pic of the bike , but also focusing on the scenery.
the scenery includes all surrounding natural features, background and foreground .
I've noticed people capturing light and image reflections in their bikes also. using chrome and mirrors as a feature.

Most of these shots were taken with the sun in front of the lens , however I used objects to protect the lens from high glare.

The sun is behind the bell tower.

Ol' Blue sitting in the dark shadows under the gaze of the watchtower.
It wasn't til I got home that I realised the clouds were forming a glow pattern also.

It would be interesting to hear of other successful pic angles , as I'm sure many of us endeavour to capture great memories of our rides.

Good to see your getting down and dirty for the perfect pic, I've all way's found if the bikes on a slight angle and your looking up at it you can't go wrong.
BTW old Blue looks good with the bling.

Here's a pic I just took.

looking like a real Kruiser there Smithy , some nice touches , and the Kamera angle sets it off as much lower in appearance.

Good pics.
I only started doing the same after reading a book on photography that suggested it. Try a high angle if you can.
No standing on car roofs, though. Cool
When you're taking pics with the sun in front, try forcing the flash.
It highlights the shiny bits and raises the darker areas on the bike.
Try a bit of editing software, too. Even the free stuff can turn a good picture into something special.
Biggest problem I have with the low ones is getting back up again without falling over!

Most people will just leave the camera on auto, but if you set it on the P function then tilt the camera upwards before focusing the picture it will let more light in, and down  for darkening. I've only just been shown this by a pro photographer  and it works well.

More Guinness might fix that CJ ,
my old camera also had the panoramic function , it added a great background to your pics.
I'm still very new to pics and doing as much experimenting as I can. I hope this segment helps us to gather more ideas.

Interesting stuff.

The back ground...or foreground is just as important as the subject matter. So you need to watch your depth of field if you want it all in focus!

taking it to a new level Img_7710

There's nothing like a crooked horizon, stray telegraph pole or some such to spoil an otherwise good shot. The sKones were good though, if a little on the small side, and worth the ride just to enjoy them with a nice pot of tea in the "summer" sunshine!!

Of course, lighting is everything - and as CJ says, using flash during daylight to fill in the dark areas of the bike on a bright day can be an effective technique.

Like Smithy, I have been using my DSLR on the P function for some time - I discovered that function by accident, after all, who has the time and inclination to read the whole user manual? However, these pics were taken on my snappy-matic digital camera which I keep in my pocket as a come in handy - my DSLR wouldn't turn on (thought it was a flat battery - and I hadn't taken the spare, but turned out that it was the memory card door that wasn't shut properly).
