I got sick of the faded pink/orange on the 16v and finally did something.  Might not be to everyones taste but its only paint, can be put back to original easily enough.

Satin Black from Bunnings, red pinstripe from eBay.  At least its all one colour now. I have a small carbon fibre weave panel coming to make a dash from as the barbacks stop the use of the original. Also some black reflective vinyl sheet that will be added to some small body parts to enhance visibility in the dark. The wheels still need powdercoating/painting but not much more to do now.

As a reminder here's how it did look.

The custom seat was swapped to Rosskos naked bike to enhance it for sale.  I can easily do another, maybe even take photos at different steps to show how it was done.

Nice job Al - looks good in satin black with the red pin stripe. The reflective black vinyl stuff is a good option for keeping her mean looking during the day  but ensuring she's seen by those looking at night.

My first K100 was that faded reddy/orangy/pinky colour when I got her and even with weak UK sun it seemed to fade with every exposure (same sun as the Aussie sun, of course, but by the time it gets round to us each day, you lot have used up most of the UV and taken away the most of the heat for the day). I also went for the respray option (but restored to the original red colour)

If you do go for another custom seat, I for one would be interested to see a blow by blow illustration of how it was done.

It's all the fault of those silly people from NSW and VIC because they are saving up daylight and storing it in big containers and concentrating the heat and causing global warming and blah blah blah................

At least Banana Benders (Aussie slang for Queenslanders) and Poms (Aussie slang for British) won't have to contend with curtain fading in the Southern states caused by daylight saving . . .

Different theories.

Shortened spelling of POHM (Prisoner Of His Majesty), the original Brits on the East coast of Oz.
Contraction of Pomegranate. The colour of the skin of Brits after exposure to the antipodean sun.

Those are usually considered the most likely origin, but no one really knows for sure, and I'm sure other theories will be forthcoming. Very Happy
