I'm not sure if this has been covered before. I couldn't find any other threads. I'm after a coolant temp sensor (CTS) for my 1986 K100rs. I came across this:
https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32680512124.html
Is it true that a K100 CTS is the same as a Peugeot 505 2.8? How's the price!!? Not bad eh.
Has anyone tried these? Does any other car CTS fit the K100?

could well be for a k100 ....16 valve model not the 8 valve model

the one you have posted only has 1 side of the temp sensor required

the one for the 8 valve has in fact two circuits ...using the sensor body as the centre point for the two sensors within the body

remember that the k100 8 valve unit  runs the fan circuit off one side and the engine management off the other
'
just a heads up

good price though

Thanks Charlie for the reply.

Hmmm.... the information with the sensor gives the correct part number that they say it's equivalent to (highlighted in bold). I'm not taking this info they give 'as Gospel' but it does make one think.... Surely there has to be some similarities among temp sensors. I don't find it surprising that there may be interchangeable parts out there.... I did read somewhere that somebody had a $15 sensor from somewhere but it wasn't this brand. I think they had success with it as well..... It's just interesting that's all....

For US10$, I'd give it a shot.

Might buy one or two to see what their about.

Hey Charlie, I might get you one so you can have a closer look at it.

cheers Blakey mate

ill have look ,,,then if correct we could suggest the supplier and part ?

you have a few old girls possibly in need of a spare ?

would be glad to hand it back after an examination
my doubt was in the schematics ...it indicates pin to earth (body )  for 1 sensor ...

btw
here's what I used as the sealing washer to the water stub...this is the naked copper washer ...when tinned(soldered ) seems to work pretty well for the last 4 years

Coolant temperature sensor alternatives 20170324

I just don't think brass - aluminium is the best connection ...electrolysis wise

When you get it, it'll be yours to keep.

If it checks out ok, then we'll probably try it out on one of my bikes.

Thanks for the tip with the washers too!
