Check the clips on the rubbers are not interfering with the mechanism being able to return. I did have that happen and ended up with high idle.
You can lift it up and feel for what's happening, look at each one as its easy to have something interfere with it. This one is important. Also check th the tend where the throttle position sensor is located.
Also check its all well lubed. [You have done this]
Second place is to look at the handlebar chain mechanism, may need clean and lube and a stiff throttle can be a sign. [cable disconnected and still happening puts this off the list for now]
