I don't currently own a bike. But hope to buy an K100 this summer for my 40's birthday Embarassed

Must call myself novice in the MC world. But not in the restoration of old BMW's world. So hope this skill can help me come up with a nice looking K100. Have some id's what I'm after. I like the Cafe racer look. But don't think it will fall in to that category if you ask the hardliners. More an cross breed of street/cafe-racer.
I'm tall and that must translate inn to the build also.

Previous summers I have done rentals - Hornets, Bandits etc. And owned a Suzuki GSX750F 2002 a brief summer.

Wow, things change fast.

Got my self a nice K100rt -85 with a lot of extras. But after driving it for some time I thought it was to nice to convert.
So got myself an K100lt -87 since the price was nice and had Öhlins damper. But after some use it felt even better that the rt  Laughing  The extras from the rt like el.screen, heated grips, charger, intercom, top pannier, rolebars, mud flaps and so on was moved over.

Found out that I want some engine work done to the project and need the BSK management. And that needs the K1100 trottlebody.... Guess what...
I ended up with a real nice looking complete K1100 also  (o)

From 0 to 3 in 1 year and project parts pour in filling my garage, and I still don't know which of the bikes to start the project on   Embarassed
Guess its all up to the local DMV office if they approve on removing ABS from an -96 model or not.

I have no problem with authority. Just some of the morons that are paid to enforce it.
