K100RS 1984

Got an air leak somewhere which I think is rubber related.

Z hose checked
Air filter Box to plenum - recently replaced large connecting rubber hose
Manometer blanking rubbers good
Have tried the Propane / WD 40 / Degreaser spray at the base of the throttle body to engine rubbers - no change
Fuel Injector o-rings and filters recently replaced.
Fuel hoses replaced (internal and external)

I'm thinking (speculating) it's rubber related (and sucking air) because once the engine has run for 20 mins, the idle speed is different (usually faster and is sitting at the 950rpm). I remember way back when I first got my car license, that squealing fan belts will heat up and expand when hot and squeal may well go away.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

GF

Only one I can see missing from that list, Guy; plenum chamber to throttle bodies?

Thanks for the reply

Will check once some much needed rain clears

Seems to be sucking air creating an irregular idle. But once it's fully warm it's running a lot better.

When I put the manometer (about 2mths ago) onto it I was not getting much response from #4 screw. So I zeroed them all in and then out 1.5 turns. Air filter to plenum had a crack, z hose was slightly kinked (an now fully correct).

Had a thought to:
Remove and flatten the base of the the throttle body to engine rubbers with some fine wet and dry paper over a sheet of glass.
Then wipe some sealer (adhesive silicone or something similar and suitable) under and around the rubbers.

Still, had a pleasant ride today (National Park south of Sydney) - especially after the same police highway patrol car (Chrysler 300) that busted me 2 days before I went to India for a month, pulled a quick u-turn and followed me (don't think I was speeding) for about 1km before another motorcycle sped past in the opposite direction and took his attention.

Regards

GF

At least in my experience, if anything is leaky below the TB it makes it difficult to sync a TB that has a leak below it.

Since it seems to run better once heated up then try the manometer when running cold and then compare to when warm to see how that differs.
