Before I bite the bullet and order one from one of the usual suppliers. has any one sourced a cheap (but good of course) version of the fuel pump damper.
Looking for either a cheaper alternative or a satisfactory way to fix the fuel pump into the plastic suspension ring, failing that I will have to spend the $$$$

What ever you use will have to be fuel proof. Go to a car wreckers and get an old filler neck hose of the correct diameter. You should be able to secure it in place with a combination of fuel hose and stainless ties. You could also try the BM shop in Brisbane or Motorworks in the UK.

I wrapped a fuel hose around one of my pumps and tightened it up with a zip tie inside. I dare not recommend a colour other than black. Dunno what they say about zip ties in fuel but they seem hard enough. It then sits on top of the bracket.  You could put one under too I spose.

Or maybe even slit it down the guts and fit it over the ring, maybe don't need the zip tie then.

It's tough to imagine a better deal than that.  On offer is most of the stuff you find housed withing the tank!  -- and at a very economical price. I'm thinking I may buy this simply to have it on hand for future needs.

At U$82 inc. shipping I'm pretty tempted too.
