I’ve never been wild about the way the big gauge cluster/headlight looks on my ‘85 k100. I’d like to go to a bracket mounted headlight and single round speedo/signal type setup. If anyone has done a similar conversion and can recommend a source for parts I’d really appreciate it. Also what do I need as far as wiring and speedo/Tac cables? Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!

Speedo is a difficult one, you're going to need either an aftermarket speed sensor (magnet on the wheel and sensor set up) or you will have to purchase a motherboard which coverts the signal, because the K100's speed sensor system isn't compatible with aftermarket speedos. Tach is just simple wiring pretty much.

I've done this conversion, I'm running a Lucas bucket and headlight, and a MotoGadget motoscope mini.

This might be the time to try your hand at technical writing and compose a guide in this process to help others—using your components as examples—then post it on the site.
