Hi all out there

A quick and probably slightly silly question. And yes I did search the forums...

My K100 RS CHOKE lever is really a FAST IDLE lever. Yes. Got it.

But the question is "does it have one "locking" position or two?"

Mine only has a first locking position and you can manually push it to rev higher.

I have a recollection that a previous K75 had TWO locking positions?

Or am I imaging it...

My K100RT only has a single locking position about halfway through the travel.

You are not imagining. Some lock in either position, some only lock in the first setting.

Is it something that was added to later models? 

My 1994 K75RT holds anywhere beyond the middle position, but my earlier bikes only hold the middle position.

My earlier Ks are like that, 92 K100LT would hold any position. BUT...97 K1100LT only holds one position.

However I rarely use it, just fire up and ride.....

If it holds in any position other than half (or in some cases full as well) then it needs to be cleaned and freshly re-lubed.

ETA: Or it's possible that the cable is worn and needs to be replaced.
