Hello all, Long time rider, since 1980,
Started on Honda xl250 then cb550 onto
KZ 900 then CB 750. Got my first Beemer in 86 a brand new K 75. Moved up to a 85 K100 RS in 2000, still riding it. Last week I bought a 85 K100 RT. Nice shape but parked for 8 years so needs some TLC.

Welcome Flintstone Smile

CB550 was my first bike, got that one in 1990 Very Happy

You can ask questions in the right topics, but for now, replace the tyres and all what is rubber wich meets fuel or oil.
Clean every contact, don't forget the earthlines, and give the bike a full service.

Thanks Arlina, The bike was kept indoors so most rubber looks good its got 78,000 km  and came with many parts that had already been swapped out.
So far I have no power to the fuel pump but power every where else... Only had it a couple days so need to dig in.

The plug connector into the gas tank, if its a bolt down tank, is at the front left and it's a known issue, check the contacts and squeeze them up a bit so its a tight fit. There is also a relay, contacts can go bad and need cleaning. Fuse contacts can also go bad so even through fuse looks good it can be bad.

There's maybe a dozen or so other forum members who would give you Olaf's reply verbatim.

- just to give you an idea of how important it is to become very familiar with that particular connector!

Hi, I have a 1985 K100 engine that has been converted to power a light hovercraft, it was previously fitted to another craft but now won't start, I could really use some help from the forum.

Kind Regards to everyone.

Some questions to get the ball rolling:

Is it equipped with the factory engine harness or did you rewire it?

I assume it ran at one time in your hovercraft.

Does the starter spin the engine?

Have you pulled the spark plugs after a starting attempt?  Are they wet or dry?

Do you know the history of your hovercraft? - a few years ago I came across a K100 powered hovercraft in a state of disrepair in a yard in Sheffield. somebody who knew something about it told me that it, and other similar ones had been used in the Bond film 'Die Another Day' - the opening sequence I think.

(Remington Brosnan clearly knows sh*t about K-bikes, judging from the problem with yours)
