Hello All

So planning on meeting at the Dayboro bakery @ 08:30 am  and leaving  around 9:00 am
This should give plenty of time to grab a coffee and  bacon and egg roll  and for us southerns to get across town

Heading towards Maleny  1 hr:20 min ( 85km) where we can a leg stretch and smoke for those that need it
could be heavily policed

From Maleny to Imbil  for lunch at the pub via Kenilworth ( no dirt this time Mick )  1 hr:00 min

After lunch into the rally site which is only 10 min away

This is a very short run for us SEQ riders  plenty of petrol stop along the way if needed
For those that have not been to this rally bring ear plugs, tent, camp chair, cash
If its warm there is a cooling creek to sit in
Food and drinks are available for dinner and breakfast in the morning

Well that’s it for the rally, a delightful & entertaining weekend hopefully had by all, ably organised & steered by Matt who had to crack the whip to bring the K rabble back into line on occasion, first up thanks Matt for your patience and dedication to the K cause.

I’m sure more of the crowd will post up pics & the like, hopefully I’ve remembered everyone who turned up. A grand total of 9 K’s were present at any one time, which is probably a decent number for our part of the world. K100RS 8V & 16V, RS MotorSport, RS SE, LT, K100 Basic & K75s & c models were all covered.

Sat morning had a decent turnout for a coffee before kickoff at the Dayboro bakery, with Matt & his Dad’s K100 RS & SE (having previously come up for the event a few days before on a 800KM+ run, respect Sir, respect Shocked ) Martin’s K75 hybrid, Mick’s & Gary’s RS’s, Paul & Jacko’s LT’s, my Basic, Alan’s Multistrada & Pablo’s Harley also being allowed to share pack space with the sacred K Kluster.

A run out through Mt.Mee, Woodford, the Bellthorpe range track (credible accounts of Martin’s K75 losing some stand length & flying sparks) Conondale and a first stop at Maleny where we had already managed to lose a few of the pack. On to Kenilworth, where Mick achieved a perfect 90 degree lean angle after being startled by an ambulance (how did they know Mick was coming?) Luckily net result being just a mirror to pop back in. After catching up with missing team leader Matt who had picked up Koos on his K75 enroute, all headed up the Imbil range with half the pack taking a sneaky squirrel route at a decent trot via the Imbil-Brooloo road to meet at the Imbil pub for lunch.

After a leisurely lunch some of the attending pack parted ways to head home with the rest of the overnight gang proceeding to the Borumba deer park to set up camp.

Damn that’s a nice RS....the big daddy LT’s not too bad either Paul Laughing

Imbil Rally 61c6e110
Imbil Rally 22beaa10
Imbil Rally 45c83f10

Imbil Rally 7db4ab10
Imbil Rally 802ada10

Just to prove even a usually immaculate K75 can get bugged....

So the rally? You really had to be there....needless to say many laughs & moments shared, drunken HOG riding bums falling onto tents, a Basic K100 dropped on her side Embarassed and a VERY early start by the “senior” members of the Kluster, OMG I don’t know what they’re on, but it’s good stuff...

This morning’s route home involved another delightful loop, taking in a few empty back roads featuring the odd cattle grid & seedy timber bridge, a nice hilly section with ski jumps via Ahearns Rd/Postman’s track & some duelling K’s back up to the Pitstop Cafe at Mt Mee for a late breakfast.

Book me in for next year! Very Happy

Regards

Dan

Thanks for the write up and photos Dan. We really are lucky in SEQ to have so many good rides within a few hours and so many K owners willing to help each other out.

Thanks for taking the heat off me by dropping yours as well Very Happy  Love the english language "achieved a perfect 90deg lean angle = dropped it"

Off to the carpark to practice figure 8's and hit the internet in search of a handlebar end weight.
