Hi.
Had the pinhole leak beside the pump.
Sent the tank to a welder, didn't take anything off. Wire and pump still in.
Also changed the filter when I had washed the tank.
Now a few months later, it won't start.
Can the electricity from the weld f****ed it up?
I tried to start it with gas lid open and didn't see or hear anything. Got 12v to the connector.
Didn't fill the New filter with petrol, didn't need to? If the pump had worked it would fill the filter?
Going to clean up and grease the ground point under the tank tonight, hope it would be that easy 😅

If the pump was functioning, fuel would have been pumped into the fuel filter. If it doesn't function after cleaning ground points and checking its terminals for correct and tight connections, remove the pump then test it with 12V on the workbench.

If all else fails remove the pump, remove the filter, spray the pump end of things full of penetrating oil, tap it against your palm firmly several times. the apply 12v on the bench.
Repeat as needed.
Once your happy it is working properly rinse with gas and re-install.
Remember the pump normal uses the gas for cooling so only run it in short bursts.

The idea being sometimes when left dry the pump gums up a bit and lacks enough torque the start. With a little help you can get them freed up.

Grounds didnt help, but was about time.
Sucked fuel threw the pump and filter, nothing.
Took 12v directly to the fuse and the pump made a knuckle, every time I tried the same thing. So seized?
Will take it out tomorrow and try the oil thing.
Note to self, do things fast even when it's off season

Have you verified the diameter of your moto's fuel pump?

BMW does not make part substitution easy. It's been said that BMW stands for Bikes Made Weird.
