Though Ed and I made the deal on the K1100RS months ago, the pandemic lockdown left me unable to leave greater Sydney to go and pick it up.  Once the new premier extended that lockdown again it made it even worse.

I've been aiming at getting it ready for Marie to take on the Northern Tablelands ride.

Work completed:

-Steering head bearings replaced (new FAG), fork oil at the same time as its easy then.
-Front calipers were sticky, so strip, inspect, clean, reassemble.  My Ultrasonic cleaner from Aldi made this job easy-peasy (Vinegar/water mix)
-New battery (310cca Motobatt (in black))
-There was a 'spare' Feather light clutch cable cable tied alongside the existing cable.  The Feather light has been fitted and clutch adjusted (properly, it had no freeplay at all) with the OEM retained in position as a spare.
-The front master cyl gave me hell.  Bore is good, seals look good, but one seal is too tight causing the piston to not return after depressed.  The sidecar gave up its' MC piston and seals for the project.  All working properly now.
-Rear brake light switch refused to work.  Again the sidecar gave up her working brake light switch.

Now all I need is a Blueslip for rego, just a formality really.  

It would have to be raining, wouldn't it!

It was great to see it out on the road last weekend.

Rawdon Ball (WA) was the original owner from our group. Rawdon bought it sight unseen from a guy in Sydney and asked the group here if there was someone who could pick it up and hang on to it till he could get over to collect it. Rossko volunteered of course and immediately started working on it.

That's a problem I found with mine. It just wants to run, and it does it so easily you just don't realise the speed ticking higher. Had quite a few speeding tickets on my SweetThing

I remember when I first picked her up in WA and headed back East, on my first day I couldn't understand why I was having to lean so hard around this mediocre corner until I glanced down to the speedo to see I was nudging well past 160 clicks. It's built for high speed and the RS fairing works very well at higher speeds too.

The ticket’s a bummer but also maybe a timely reminder. 

That said. With the size of the $$$ fines I don’t think I could afford to ride in Oz ( I regularly manage to exceed the National targets here…accidentally of course   )
