I am in the process of changing the wheels of my '89 LT with ABS to wheels and front brakes from a K1100RS.
Don't mind losing the ABS. Never have felt it kicking in.
I am ok about removing the ABS from the rear brake. Just the same pipery as a non ABS K100.
Any advice about how to rig the front brakes? The K1100RS would have had ABS but now it won't. Going to use a K1100 master cylinder.
Your thoughts please.

Hi,
As I commented previously some months ago have you confirmed with your insurers that they approve in writing, just in case you have a claim and they chose to invoke the "get out of paying free" clause of a non-notified modification.

Insurance policies almost always ask is the vehicle modified in any way, if you say no and subsequently do modify it say by removing the ABS they could well deem that a failure to disclose a material fact.

I have had my ABS operate and it saved my bacon.
Regards,
K-BIKE

Appreciate your concerns and will be informing them about the wheel and brake changes. At the moment my insurance costs me £70 per year so I can stand a bit of an increase in my premium.
One of the few advantages of getting older. 55 on Monday. Lump sum and pension starts. Hooray!
Wife gave me the choice of getting a newer bike or tarting up the K. Sad isn't it.
As far as doing away with the ABS I have thought about this and don't think I will miss it. A bit like airbags though. Don't appreciate them until you need them.
I know there is a school of thought in the UK that if we are not careful, legislation will force them onto even small bikes with the associated costs as has happened with cars.
After all, there are more K100's without ABS, than with it.

Update to my last comment ref insurance.
Found a thread on another forum from someone who made the same wheel mod to their K1100LT. When they informed their insurance there was no change as it didn't increase the performance. Better safe than sorry though.
