Professionally restored?  .... and what about the side stand?  I'd be asking for at least a 29K discount on that.

And the choice of colour is one of the most boring colours to ever grace a motor vehicle.  At least be bold in you colour choice, especially if you want it to stand out.

I think that color is "Filthy Snow White".  Looks too light to be "Wermacht Grey".

I reckon we need to step back, cut him some slack, and take comfort in the fact that he didn't forget to use muffler wrap on the headers. Must have muff wrap. Gotta have it. A must for the trendiest kewlness.

There's a bloke in the Queen Anne neighbourhood of Seattle who's (trying to, at least) sell a 1981 R80G/S which is clean, but modified enough (R100, etc) that it's not close to original. Asking price $20,000 with heaps of warnings to stay away if you're not serious, don't bring a wad of cash, he's not interesting in hearing why BMWs are not the best, etc.

He doesn't want a cashier's cheque from Nigeria so there's a whiff of humor there, at least.

F! One sold here recently at a classic bike auction for less than 25% of that and the price was still reckoned to be a bit on the high side.

I am talking to a local collector/restorer about buying one with 800 miles on the clock for $3000.  Methinks that might be a good investment.

Interesting side note, the Honda XL 125 was the "unofficial" tactical vehicle of the Taliban in the war with the Soviets before the CIA started supplying them with pickup trucks that could mount a 50cal.  They were cheap, light, reliable, always started with one or two kicks, and could cover almost any terrain.  Exactly the same features that made them so good for enduro competition.

Besides being such a good machine, they had a certain look that was very attractive.  IMO, one of the nicest looking small bikes of the mid 70's.   I had two of them that I beat the shit out of racing for 4 years and a total of 25,000 miles.  Never saw the inside of either one.

No shipping or purchase additions with the guy I'm talking to.

And the prices shown are old prices, the classic vehicle market has gone up a bit in the last couple years.

The word hasn't gotten out to Nanaimo yet. Operators are standing by. Could even be CAD!

The air snorkel hole makes sense but why does a K100 need a quick change thermostat port?

To paraphrase George Leigh Mallory, Because it isn't there.
