With a K1100RS belly pan you really need a flashlight to check the oil sight glass. Unless you add an LED!  (Tapped into a switched power source so all I need to do is turn the ignition on.)

I did that with both of my bricks with belly pans.  Saves having to find a flashlight.  I used LED license plate lights.

I just use a BA9S LED bulb.  Only one wire (12V) to run that way since the little mounting bracket I make serves as the ground.
