There has been a change/improvement to the oil level sight glass.

It's really made of glass now!

Part Number: 11117710474 (plastic/acrylic/whatever) was superseded by 11118527546 (now glass).

I've checked Max's BMW fiche and the part number above is for the K75, K100 and K1100 and variants. But check for yourself before ordering it!

So if you have difficulty reading your oil level, this may be what you have been waiting for.

Mine's glass. I sold BMW OEM sight glasses for Oilheads and early Ks a decade ago that were made of glass. I know this because I cut myself on a broken one as I reached into the bin on the parts shelf. The work compo claim didn't add up to much. BMW will often change part numbers when they change the part's supplier, or for technical reasons, when they modify a part as well. But sometimes they're sneaky bastards and if there's a problem with a part they don't change the part number at all...the better to not draw undue attention to the failure rate.
