After many hours of reading and soaking up info from this forum and sitting next to my old girl placing what Ive learnt , study I have taken the plunge and pulled her to bits. I knew not much about the mechanics of my bike a few months ago, but know I do. I also have a greater understanding of my bike and what makes her special. Almost half way through the job. Starting to put her back together now. The job to date cant be seen. I will have to resize and upload the pics. PICTURES HERE

Nice job!

I can see that you are reading the forum. You get you clutch centering tool, you installed 4 posts to support your gear box during re-installation, You neatly tight the clutch arm to avoid ripping the rubber boot on the clutch push rod, you are checking the TGPI switch........
Great to see our experience and explanation being followed.

Good luck finalizing your project.

Bert

Fingers crossed for you Niel, but with all the good work you've done so far I doubt you're going to have any serious problems getting her started! :-)

Finally got her off the lift table today and outside into the non existant sun. Its been a long road but well worth the effort and time. I knew nothing really aboutt he workings of my bike now i can name every part and what it does. Just a little adjusting of new throttle cable and sag . Then going for test ride!.

Albyalbatross1, nice job!

I see that you're missing a choke lever cover. You can buy one from Munich Motorcycles for $12.00 plus postage.

Neil.

Very nice result.
For somebody not knowing anything, you went a long way.
Corbin seats are very good. Your bum will thank you after a 1,000Km ride.

I agree Charlie, its amazing what useful info can come from a roadside stop and chat. I have learnt plenty from just a couple of rides with you guys.

Hey Alby that seat looks great, and so does the bike. You've done a great job on it mate. Now all it needs is a nice shiney pipe. Razz

Thanks Big D.

I got a new toy today! CARBTUNE!!!! I was amazed at how easy it was to use and how much difference it made.

It was a cinch to set up out of the bag. I warmed the old girl up and plugged on the hoses and fired her up.

This was the reading straight off the bat. sort of close.
