She runs! Thanks to the help of this forum, I rebuilt the starter, new brushes in the alternator, new battery, new seat (not shown), but the bike has basically been not used for over a year. Adult owned, never crashed, and about 65K miles.

Now on to the other stuff: DeOxit on all the connectors, pull the tank and do the heat isolation stuff, oil change, coolant change, flush brake systems. Oh: and maybe wash the bike too.

Okay, the 1985 K100RT is back together, washed and waxed, and went for a ride yesterday. YES the tires are dusty after a bit of dirt road... but this bike is running great! Thanks all.

Nice bike Jim, nice dog too! It certainly cleaned up well.

I'd like to get one of those rear mudshields with the reflectors on it for mine - it's very effective in the camera flash so it's gotta be good in the lights of a car at night.

Don`t know if it`s legal in UK.....swiss models using red reflectors.

That's don't bother me Inge....coz I'm in ireland cheers and the cops here don't really sweat small stuff like that!

I did have one on an ebay.de watch, it was orange IIRC and off an ex Polizei motor. Must have a little troll again!
(PS that Hamster is freakin me out, I keep expecting him to put on glasses and pull out a smoke!)
