k100rt running fine red warning tringle comes on occasionally, touch brakes then ok.
End of yesterdays ride came to stop, battery warning light came on.
Turned off ignition, switched back on, lights, horn indicators all worked but no warning lights oon headlamp cluster, bike would not start. Turn on ignition a small click could be heard I think from the relay
Today switched on bike, no warning lights it appears no power to starter no lights horn or indicators
ANY HELP

Since you got no warning lamps with ignition on, you got a problem with the kill switch.

no garage or shed means outdoor repairs
guess what lovely Pembrokeshire weather
once it starts to rain it dont seem to stop
I'll update as and when (if) this lovely June weather changes

took off cut out switch seemed ok, cleaned up put back in no difference.
ignition switch seems ok but still no power anywhere.
Cleaned earths under tank cant see no loose connections anywhere.
Any ideas?

Dave, try with right connector under the tank, one attached to frame with plastic heat shield. Kill switch goes there. Open the connector, clean and tight 6 pins and try to start.

Did you measure at the connection points inside the switch?

"No power anywhere"....we are still speaking about instruments and starter circuit.........or more?

Nino`s suggestion about RHS switch assy connector is a good one, since it not that uncommon.
Measure voltage at related wires at each side of the connector, with ignition on.

Have you checked fuse #1?

will open the connector once the wonderful rain stops
I have ordered a new ignition swich hopefully that will be here tomorow
If this doesn't work I will see if i can get an autoelectrician to check the wiring
as I haven't got a multimeter and to be honest I cant understand the guides even on this forum
which I find brilliant
At the mot 1 month ago the same autoelectrician fixed an intermittent fault on the indicators
i am wondering if something might not be lined up correctly

Hello Dave, it looks complicated but go slowly, follow the wires, tight contacts with a small screwdriver. Do it before anything else. My experience with K is - small fixes first, and when really sure, order part (too expencive to waste).

Morning all
yesterday had a full day at the beast
rh switchgear taken out stripped cleaned ( 2 hours to reasemble fiddly springs,ballbearing & small contacts)
all contcts looked fine(possibly kill swick ones a little worn) put back together
No difference... New ignition swich plugged in,.. No difference
Traced all wires cant see any faults. Tried putting a wire across Kill connector no change, put a wire across wires on back of old ignition swich, no lights etc but a click on the starter relay
After this I rechecked fuses, no 1 fuse had blown, changed it but no change, I think it must have blown during my tests.
Any Ideas please

Ok i am not as good with lectrics as some of the others on here but for what its worth, have you checked that the connection at the starter has power to it.
Sometimes because i'm not so good with lectrickity i work backwards. Is the starter ok? Just my way of looking at stuff. Hope you work it out Dave.

Couldnt have traced it without wiring diagrams from crazy frog absolutely brilliant
today bright and sunny off for a spin

The Crazy Frog electrical diagram is a godsend since the original BMW ones are RUBBISH and yes I am shouting. I have the original BMW wiring diagram CD and they are not a patch on CF's diagram.
