All

Running both bulb filaments at once on HI beam.

This may have been hashed out long ago so bear with me!
Has anyone any advice on do or don't ?
It is a simple matter when I already have a relay on an 80/100Watt bulb to wire it as such.
The only thing I can foresee is a heat problem for the headlight assy.
Daytime temps rarely go to extremes in Nova Scotia (10-25 Deg. C) . Can I expect enough cooling for the headlight from just riding?
The high beam would be on for a low duty cycle due to night time oncoming traffic volume.
Daytime vehicle lighting is the law in Canada.

Hi Helmut,
The general comment is that the bulb is not intended for both to be on at the same time hence the bulb may experience reduced life and the lamp may suffer from overheat problems. That said the socket is the most vulnerable part and would need to be replaced with a ceramic socket which is available from Eastern Beaver.

Hi Helmut,
One point I forgot to mention is Jim at Eastern Beaver has an interesting section on heating http://easternbeaver.com/Main/Stuff/Faqs/Heat_Cautions/heat_cautions.html

Jim makes a very high quality product and he is a pleasure to deal with as well.
