I've read somewhere that a twin exhaust (aftermarket) was produced for K100's, 1 pipe each side with a cross over somewhere in front of the rear wheel. Does anyone have any information, I'm curious more than anything, it would change the whole look of the bike obviously (if such a thing exists).

Thanks for the pic Bert, very interesting, I wonder what it would sound like ? I would like to get my hands on a twin system but have never seen one advertised anywhere.

Certainly changes the look of the bike dramatically - hate to imagine what it does for the tuned length of the primaries ??????????????

Based on the picture that is a very early model so I suspect the only option (not cheap but what is) would be a custom made job but I do like the symmetry of twin pipes.

Yes Phil, I like the look of it for the same reason. I have a mate with a CBX 1000, the exhaust looks very similar. I know of a guy in Launceston who buillds these things in stainless, he did a full set of headers and pipes for that CBX, a wicked looking job. I think I might be speaking with him, with that pic as a sample.

You have to think with two less pipes it would have to be cheaper and as the existing header are stainless he may be able to just make up a modified collector but as Beachcomber suggested getting the primaries the same length would be difficult although the question is are they anyway? I think the K75 exhaust makes an attempt but the 100 pipes are all straight unless they disappear into the muffler at different lengths?

The primaries don't have to be the same length. Make the shorter ones out of slightly smaller diameter tubing to achieve the same back pressure in the system.

Looks like they might've discontinued the twin exhaust pipes....bit of a bummer. I reckon you'd lose the centre stand too...

I think it is going to drag on corners, at least the right side certainly will. I drag the center stand on the right. I would be afraid of levering the rear wheel off the ground. It is not as tucked in as the pipe our bikes came with. Two mufflers mean more weight too. What's the point? The stock exhaust doesn't rob you of horsepower, doesn't drag and doesn't weigh as much. Still, interesting to see.

Look carefully at the photo and you can see the center (not centre Twisted Evil) stand in the stowed position.

While the clamour of twin exhausts are not actually in my list of favourites, I do labour to appreciate the idea of things of a different colour, and endeavour to harbour no rancour towards those whose mode of behaviour is to metre out with vigour a gesture of correction, whilst I stand to the centre, the splendour of neighbourly valour doth suit my demeanour and is without glamour, but candour, and something requiring not armour, but honour. 'Tis all but a bit of theatre.
