Advice guys on good replacement tyres for my K100RS...currently running the following Metzeler Lasertecs and they work great....front 110-80-18 and 140-80-17

TYRE TYRES TYRES Sany0114

TYRE TYRES TYRES Sany0116

I know I would get better use of these tyres if I rode corners only, which I did on the Oxley highway for 50KM's from Walcha to Wauchope.(down hill-next time the other way) but the long straights kill the centre tread.

Is there such a thing as hard centre soft edges?...

dont know much about the bt45s klompy many express their appreciation of them ...but have had a great experience with the pirelli "sport demons "

my front lasted quite a good while ...and still had some tread left when i decided to change it (cause of a great big cut accross it ...from a metal strap off timber across the road ,,,edge up ) i think all up was something about 18000-19000 ks

the rear of the "demons" really does hold the road under all conditions ...i have a great admiration for them ...really different from many years ago and dulops contis and all the rest ....

from the local passionate tyre guy ...front and backs fitted up (plus 1 s ) and balenced for under 260 aussie sheckles

hope that helps ...

i think rt and a few others have tried them out too ...so might be worth having a word amongst you guys whilst at the pub in mittagong ...sniffle !!!

The BT45 is a good tyre but if I got 8000 from it I was lucky. The BT45 front and Michilin Macadam rear was the best combo for handling but they wore out in a hurry.

Don't worry Charlie. Pictures will follow. Not to rub it in of course, just to show faces all having a horrid time cause you aren't here TYRE TYRES TYRES 44271

I have the sport demons and I have no trouble taking most corners at least 11kph over the posted speed and mine have lasted in excess of 2000km and still look almost new.
I posted somewhere the cost around $320 fitted?

hmm food for thought rossco

i aproached the gurus with the question whilst i was still neive and dumb about k bikes

my question was ..(quite literally) ...i have issues with 75 kilometer an hour corners at 130 kph ...the poor old girl bucks and stuff ;but only on right handers ...do you think its the swing arm bearings ? or the buggered rear shock ...or the not so cocher rear "shinko" tyre ..

i never did understand the "weird" looks

its all in the mind ...but a good rear shock does help ...and the pirelli ...wowa yep there "gooduns "

I'm using a pair of Michelin Pilot Activ's and would recommend them.
Feel as stable as BT45's but noticeably cheaper. They look like they will last longer but its early days with only 3000 miles on them.
