Hello from the Northwest! Bought my first bike this September in Ketchikan AK, took a ferry to Prince Rupert BC then rode the 1000 miles back home. Now we are hooked and looking for a second bike for more adventures.

I have a 1988 K75S, I know not a 100 but I was told it was ok to join the group anyway.

Welcome to the forum. I must say that your ride home after the purchase was an ambitious one. Purchase of a vehicle long distance, so to speak, is something of a leap of faith. I take it all went well on the return home.

Welcome to the asylum Bigdibbs. You can check out, but you can never leave (ask me how I know). That was a long commute to and from Rupert, it must have been a great machine to go that far for it. I've seen lots of good deals on CL between your point and Seattle. You will want to connect with Two Wheels Better for your OEM parts, he's at the parts desk of one of the Seattle BMW dealerships.

G'day Bigdibbs. Sometimes we ask why people choose a particular username, but with yours, I'm not sure we need to know!

Great to have you along. 75 or 100...it's still a K bike and that's fine by us.

Hey Bigdibbs, Welcome to this fabulous group. I joined with the pre Xmas purchase of a K100, 12/16/12 and this is far and beyond the best forum I have ever been on. I am just figuring out my bike and haven't ridden a mile on it yet. You will be happy you joined. I wouldn't mind coming up to AK this summer.

The trip was excellent, got lucky with really nice weather. The ride from Prince George to Whistler is a lot of fun, where Hwy 99 takes off it is a narrow and windy ride into Pemberton. It will definitely be a repeat ride north.

Just past the turn off to Hwy 99 south.

Welcome again to the forum, BD. Now with two great bikes in the garage, both of 'em Beemers, you'll likely be hard pressed to decide which to roll out the door on on any given day. But since they're just different enough I reckon you'll find a use for the both of 'em in your neighbourhood.

It was good to meet you both. We've got a forum member who's well-versed in BMWs just over the border in Canadia who likes to ride in this region too - that would be club-c, aka, Clubbie. I hope we can all catch up sometime round the great Pacific North Wet this coming season when the snows have melted away and go for a burble. Cheers.

Bigdibbs,

Welcome to the best site for technical and for fun. Travel anywhere and there are members waiting to welcome you.

As for basketball, I am now 5' 8", was less in school but got to be on basketball team too.....Was fun.

The bike is only part of it, if this were a club the atmosphere would be excellent. We Irish Eccentrics are meeting up tomorrow..Christmas brunch.

First Gear makes a long pant that fits really well. The coat I had to buy 2 sizes to big to get the sleeves long enough. Both coat and pant are Kilamajaro from First Gear. I had to special order the pants from a local shop.
