Will a 1980's RS throttle cable fit 91 RS? In other words were there any changes to the throotle cable design during RS production (So when I buy a secondhand one as a spare it will work if I need it to!).

Can't see any cables on RealOEM.

Looking at the ETK, I believe that all the throttle cables are the same for the RS.
To my knowledge, the only modification was made for the 84-85 RTs to accept the latest models of throttle cables.

I once bought a used spare clutch cable, and after shipping, it was almost as expensive as a new one.
Here in Canada, the cost for a throttle cable is $37 (or 23£ +VAT).
Do you want to save 5£ or 10£ and take a chance to get a worn cable?

Thanks Bert. I don't think I'll need one but I'm doing some trips this year and want a spare of some sort. New ones now seem expensive compared to used. I will buy a new clutch cable but risk a used throttle. Got to stay on budget somehow.

This is the system that dealers use.

Here is what I found:
Part # 32 73 2 310 498 fits:
K 1 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993
K 100 RS 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992
K 1100 RS 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996

K100rt or LT are dfferent.

It's a different throttle cable on the 4V models than the 2V's.

I've found this site helpful in finding parts and numbers and cross referencing different models

As you can see it lists at least 6 diff. cables

Looks like RS changed cable at 6/86
