Here is a link to video I put together showing the evolution my bike has taken over the last three years of my ownership. It doesn't really go into great restoration detail but if you have questions I will be glad to do my best to answer them.

This is my first street bike and I have enjoyed tinkering with it and learning about it, but naturally I enjoy riding it most of all.

Outstanding! the before and after is amazing I noted in the repair to the gear indicator the little spikes of corrosion in the connector sockets caused by moisture getting into the cluster. Great work you can be very proud I suspect the car park accident was not accompanied by a note saying sorry here are my details.

That is actually an anti-galling compound in the sockets. I put it in there to prevent any more corrosion.

I was extremely fortunate with the accident. I had gone to lunch with my cousin and upon our return we were met by one of her co-workers with his insurance information in hand. He was very sorry about what had happened and got a couple co-workers to lift the bike. Basically his insurance paid for the panniers and the rest of the restoration. What a great result and so rare, my pal got back to his dented car to find a note saying the people watching me think I am leaving my address, boy aren't they wrong. For corrosion prevention and resurrection of connectors many of us use DeoxIT from Caig it works like magic.

It's a shame there are so many dishonest people out there. I realize I was very fortunate with my situation.

Thanks for the info on DeoxIt, that looks like good stuff.
