Hi Guys,

Out for a May bank holiday run with a mate on his brand new TranAlp. Started well enough in Perthshire with bright sun but then as we headed west turned to mist and steady rain for 2 days. I don't enjoy riding in very wet conditions but arriving somewhere, peeling off your sodden gloves and having a hot shower and a cold beer makes it all worthwhile. Heading back east this morning it dried up again and we got to hit some of the best roads in Scotland in the dry.

500 miles, mostly wet ones and the K didn't miss a beat. She likes a wee drink of oil though - I think it's leaking from the sump/engine mating face. Could be the main seal etc but I don't think so and the oil/water pump is sound. Might also experiment with some of that oil leak stopper additive - K1100 forum seems to rate it for giving old rubber new flexibility.

Cheers
Dave

nice pics Dave, how are you finding the LEDs under the mirrors, are they proving their worth?

Thanks Charlie, Inge. Nothing compared to your 2700 Km monster Charlie!

Grover. Well no-one ran me over mate Very Happy Seriously, to my mind yes they make the bike a lot more noticeable. To others it probably looks like a Christmas tree. It did cross my mind when I had my dayglo onesie rain suit on and the bike littered with extra LED's that it could be seen as overkill. But to my mind better that than underkill eh?

Cheers
Dave

Slip of the finger Paul! So 2300 miles? Land's End to John O'Groats by road is about 874 miles. For those not in the UK this is about the longest distance you can travel top to boottom on our wee Island (without island hopping). So Charlie rode very nearly there and back and there again!

Maybe now I understand why a big comfy seat is needed for our continental brethren Shocked

Cheers
Dave
