Hello friends!Very Happy
Need information on how to remove the catalyst , the engine was hard to breathe!
Photos and diagrams are welcome. Where better to cut and how best to cook? What's the material?Smile

I don't think that my '91 has got a cat as there is no Oxygen sensor.
I did remove the cats from mine and my wifes R1100S's and was amazed at how much nicer the bikes were to ride.
Would it be worth just finding a second hand exhaust without a cat for yours?

If you can get someone who welds stainless steel then cut the exhaust open where it is next to the gearbox, you will find some porous ceramic material, crush it up and shake it out then weld the hole up.
Chances are that no one will see the welded part so no problems.

that's what I wanted to know. if there ceramics it easier, you can knock out a small hole. Oxygen sensor is not present, should be no problem. Can draw on the scheme as a catalyst located inside?Smile

If there's no Lambda sensor and no fitting for one, then it's a non-catalyst system.
