Had a quick chat with Schorn and he has a few broken ribs.  I'll let him tell his story when he is back on the forum.  Bella is being looked after.

He may be released tomorrow.

Cheers, Dave.

Not good not knowing where the bike is, good that Bella wasn't hurt.

Just spoke to Sean and he is in good spirits considering he has 4 broken ribs. Bella is fine and staying at Sean's girlfriends place on the central coast. His bike is safe at the NRMA yard in Gloucester, and I have offered to take my ute and trailer down to pick it up over the next few day's . Very disappointing for Sean, as he was so looking forward to Tottenham in 7 day's .

not good to hear guys, hopefully he realises they don't serve his type of red there and checks himself out soon .
thinking of you Sean and Bella.
Sean was telling me he has some good mates in the area, so he shouldn't be alone for too long.

anyone sees him,can you tell him I'm booked out for the weekend, so he needs to book himself out.
not much I can assist with over the weekend , as work has me on call.
I'll keep an eye on postings and see if there is anything I can help with when I start holidays on monday.

nothing like some K therapy. a few giggles to help the cause.
what was that Nurse ?   no GIGGLING  aloud , that's alright we'll  keep it down so as to not upset the others...........................!

A pal of mine in the West Island fell off a kerb and cracked a few ribs, his daughter is a doctor and her advice was take lots of pain killers and cough regularly to keep the lungs clear otherwise they can get filled with mucous and pneumonia sets in. Having had broken ribs I know how painful it is and the desire to suppress a cough is very powerful. Good to hear Bella is OK and the bike is safe, good on you guys for rallying around to help.
Regards,

This is a sad news.
The only good news is that both of them are OK.
The bad news is that riding a sidecar with cracked ribs may be a challenge. It takes some serious pulling on the bars to negotiate sharp turns at low speed.
The only solution will be to ride fast.
Best recovery to both of them.

CF

Home again, sick, sore and sorry with 6 broken ribs, a semi-popped shoulder and the usual other cuts and grazes. Failed to throw myself at the ground and miss. Bella bounced well and is fine and her usual resilient self! Still not sure what happened.....I think I blew a front tyre. Was in a right hander going downhill in second gear....next thing I woke up being dragged off the road by some other bikers. Wasn't pushing it hard or anything silly. Yes, I'm doing the breathing and coughing thing. Love that. Thanks everyone for your wishes and thoughts and concerns. This list is the best. Smithy will help me grab the bike and I'll know more about it then. Will report in! Very Happy Very Happy

Hopefully you'll find out the reason.  I had a front guard drop onto my front wheel once, locked the wheel immediately turning the bike into the gutter on the other side of the road, thankfully I went through a gap in the traffic and didn't hit anything else.

Hi Sean, glad to see you're home. I was on the forum last night but didn't see the thread. We'll miss you on Friday but I'm sure there'll be plenty of stories and photos.
Best wishes for your recovery (I understand "quick" and "recovery" don't go together for broken ribs).

A nasty experience but one that at least has left you relatively unscathed. They wont do much for the ribs, just take it easy. Having been off the road for 5 months also from accident, most of the time off was due to not having a replacement bike rather than injuries. I realised that even if the bike had been ok I couldn't have used it. Mind the ribs and as a thought, the fact that you weren't doing something silly counts for a lot. Bad as I thought it all was I found that my replacement K is much better too.......I hope the bike is ok too but you might find if its not now is the time to do some jobs. We will be thinking of you here too.

Sean and Bella,

Grateful that you guys are Ok.
Wish you the best....Smile

Myself and bike...My Buddy! got banged up last weekend too.
No rib involvement...thank goodness...(did that with a mountain bike last year)..Smile
Bruises everywhere though.

Got the bent shift lever straightened out, think that the frame and front end is Ok,have jb welded the hole in the valve cover, shall put the mirrors back on tomorrow,...and see what it does on the road.  Definitely will be reading more about fixing fibreglass fairings.  Not sure if mine is toast or not.  Pretty serious break, up around the top of the fairing.

Don't  really  want   to   talk  about   it.

Pile of gravel in a known corner was just there....and we went into a very large deep ditch lined with large sharp edged rocks.

All you folks....be careful out there please.

Regards,
Jim

Still scratching our heads on the way home as there was nothing obvious...ok, the front trye was flat...and very buckled...but still..
Wasn't till getting it off the trailer again that the culprit revealed itself. The main bottom middle mount had broken at the spline of the bolt attaching it top the sub frame. More pics as my ribs heal enough to get to work on it.

Good stuff Sean.  Glad to see that Smithy could help out and my thanks to him for being such a Pal.

JimK, I hope you are in one piece as well.  Maybe it was one of those moonshiners up in the hills having some fun with the town folk.  Gravel, hey?  On a trip in South Africa once my mate hit some rocks at night in the middle of the road that were placed for unwary motorists.  I was following closely behind on a S***** (Japanese brand) and s**t myself when I saw the sparks.  My headlight was not working so there were nearly two casualties.  Lucky at the time as we walked away with a buckled front wheel only.

Dave.

The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't.

Obviously you were missing your towel.

Good on you Sean and Bella great that you are home and get better soon. Glad you found the cause that at least rules out all of the things that go through your mind like did I do something wrong? Now you know you can fix it. Stirling Moss gave up racing after his big crash because as he said he did not know why it happened and as he didn't he was not going to chance that it was something he did or didn't do.
Regards,
K-BIKE
