Good afternoon chaps,
i'm tearing into my K100LT engine with a furry the likes of which has never been seen before and like a class A dope i sheared one of the big bolts that hold the cylinder head to the main engine block. managed to get it out but now it needs replacing (as do many many other parts).

does anyone know the part number? or a place where i can find the part number?

Don't kill yourself over it shearing, happens everyone and is much more common than you think. If that was my engine I would be replacing them all anyway, whether or not its recommended, due to the age of engine etc.

I don't have the part numbers though but I suspect you will need engine number and someone here will be able to give you the part numbers. Motoworks or Motobins can probably do it on the phone.

That was fast. I got as far as finding the parts fiches. Would you go with replacing them all as a matter of interest?

cheers fella, top notch responses as always. i think my biggest bloody outlay is going to be replacing all the bolts on this rebuild Razz

For your rebuild, it's best to remember that the cylinders are nikasil and that honing is NOT recommended.  Scotchbrte pad works best

Very light with a medium grit and no oil or kero just run them under the hot water while you do it.
If they havent done many miles then not necessary but for the average K yes the bore can be so good and smooth that the rings will never bed.  BMW usually only deal with them in the warranty period
