Hi all,
Purchased 1983 K100RS over the net last weekend was delivered to my brothers place in Adelaide so have not actually seen it yet. Original plan was to get a project bike for restore next year, but after looking at some of the posts over the weekend I think things will happen a bit sooner.

Next step is to get it home to Albury sometime during Feb. $400 via transport or bus over and ride back (if in good enough condition).

Looking forward to learning from members as I am novice mechanically. 

Current ride Vstrom 1000 is great for this area, suspect k100 will be equally as interesting.

Hi Vonny and welcome too. Its nice the way Klompy acknowledges us guys in the northern territory hemisphere. You wont find a better or more friendly forum.

You will enjoy the K, there is a wealth of technical and well proven information here and everyone from all around the world is very helpful. If you have a problem, someone will have an answer. Some of us get together at different times for rideouts and just meeting up so don't be afraid to do that.

Why not ride the K back? $400 covers a few jobs to be done. There is a section on the home page about what to do when you buy a K.... do have a quick read.

That's an excellent suggestion from Ghost. He has been around a while and someone who knows their way around a K is worth keeping up with. Skip the transporting home and go for a meet up and check it over. That's a great offer and chance to exchange a few stories over a beer or two as well. The K is a great way of meeting great people.!!

Worked most of my life in Victoria, but have always lived in NSW? So Klompy a blue for sure.

Will post photos when I get to actually see the bike. 83 model with low 60k klms and last owner spent time and money getting it in working order a couple of years back. Apparently previous owner before him let it sit for eight years.

Has current SA rego until end of Feb so should be able to handle the 900k trip home. Really kind offer Ghost and I will be in contact when I know date etc.

Finally, read section on what to do when you buy....excellent.
