Yeah I was, thanks Rick. I spent over $2000 but all of that was on parts so all the money is in the bike. I enjoyed doing it and I know I will enjoy the ride.

Hoping to raise some money with it now

Geez Waz! My ride looks pretty crappy up against that black beauty.

Actually at the moment there's quite a few bits off my K75. Seat is at the motor trimmer getting a new cover. Headlight off to do some repairs to minimise the shaking of the light caused by worn mounting rubbers and soon to order new brake lines.

Ed, I'm trying the guy in Singleton. Let's see what sort of a job he does on mine. I've seen work he's done on cars and boat seats but not seen any bike seat work.

I'll catch up with you for a look at it when it's done and fitted.

groverK, I've just had my seat redone by MJM in Goulburn. He used to do other upholstery work (did seats on my previous boat some time ago), but now only does bike seats. He did a great job, and can do recovers and also rebuilds, as in my case, to better suit my height for the bike. Worth a call if anyone needs a seat re-done. Lots of people send their seats to him from near and far.

Hoping to get the Friday off work and head on up early in the morn.

Bike does not qualify, but if I pay the fee I am sure they won't mind.

Gonna bung the Shonko tyres on in case I want to do the long run on Saturday.

Gaz or Waz, having trouble signing up for the ride. I signed up to the site, clicked 'join the ride' logged in but that is where my adventure stops.
Any thoughts?

Going to bring the tent for the two nights.

Ok. Bit of an edit here.

Just joined up and went to register
$100 for a scrapper. $200 for a non scrapper.
I have already donated and this is a bit steep even for a worthwhile cause.
Sorry Brick Brothers.
Might have to wend my way to Tottenham.

Yeah , I did the same rosskko, and came too the same conclusion. $100.00 is a bit dear for a scrapper but $200.00 for a none scrapper was over the top.

Hey just thinking rosskko, the other thing you could do is just book a camp site at the canoe centre for the same weekend, without being part of the scrap heap ride ?

Would have been good to have you two along for the weekend Rosskko and Smithy, but you're right - it starts to add up.

I'm still playing with my K75 with some days off this week. Hoping it will be ducktailless (new dictionary entry for "without ducktail") by the end of the week; starting to take on its new persona.

Keep us in the loop re your plans that weekend as we may be able to cross paths up there in the high country Smithy.

Yeah will do Gaz, I may ring the canoe centre this week and book a campsite for the same weekend, if I can get one! It's only a 2 hour blast down the hill and would be a good catch up.

Smithy, I checked in with the canoe centre regarding camping for the Brick Brothers and for unpowered sites there was no need to book; they told me they have heaps of room - very friendly people on the phone.

That's right Smithy. At this stage I hope Waz and Wazza can come up to Greta on Wednesday afternoon/evening and we can leave Greta on Thursday morning. Pub booked for Thursday night in Kempsey and into Nymboida on Friday afternoon.

Should be a leisurely couple of days, hopefully good site seeing on the way up as it's only just over 600 kms from here. We may run into some other scrappers along the route I have chosen.

Just for your info, the $100 and $200 are just suggested amounts. If you recon $200 is too much, go for the $100 and donate any on top you think is reasonable. Its not that regimented.

I'm riding this. Cost me nothing initially and I've spent about $300 on it, most of which is a set of tyres and tubes.

The RSPCM (Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Motorcycles) will run you in Phil.
BTW Drill about 10 1/2 holes in the outside of the air filter housing and you will be amazed at just how much better it performs.

And yes, it needs "performance". I got hold of a workshop manual and it actually has a power curve in it. From this I can deduce that it actually has POWER. All 9.5 hp..

I was working for Suzuki when they were new and they used to foul plugs like they were going out of fashion and we found that there was only about 2 square inches of filter actually working the rest was dead air so we drilled some holes in the canister and it improved them no end.

Yes Phil, I saw the suggestion of the entry fee and guessed you could pay as much as you could afford, but I was also guessing they were trying to limit the number of non scrappers.

And fair enough. It is like going to a fancy dress in work clothes. Unless you work as a clown and the party has a circus theme. Of course.

I don't think they want to limit the non scrappers, I received an Email from them last week encouraging me to invite non scrappers.

Be good if you and Smithy can make it.

We can park the pretty K bikes over the back somewere but I won't be parking beside Mr Smiths RS it will make mine look like a scrapper.

As I have only been in my new job for a month I thought best to only take off the one annual leave day I have accrued so far.
I will be leaving after work on Thrusday to meet up with Gaz and Waz and Wazz.

The only reason that I put up with such irreverence from my younger colleagues is that I know they are nice boys under that tough exterior, and I'll take anything if it gets a few more bucks for the Down Syndrome cause.

And at my age I know that there's always a pay back day. Great to have you aboard Rosskko. I hope you can get the campfire going this time, but it looks like we've got backup in that regard as it seems Smithy is going to make an appearance.

As you know Charlie, living on the Tablelands you 've gotta keep the fires burning! Gaz may have been referring to the Nindi ride, when at Well Crossing Ashford I had to rob some timber from a neighbouring camper to keep our fire going. Though I think our BBQ skills weren't to bad last year, lets hope we miss the storms this year.

Looks like I'll be on the K100. The mighty Suzuki has succumbed to clutch slippage. Too much power perhaps.
I'll be travelling with the "Team Inverell" group, but will catch up with the brick brothers in Nymboida.

Just completed the most important work to be done prior to setting out on this adventure;

"Fitted the stickers to the tank". It must be ready to go now!! (the overhead lights in the shed washed out the exposure but you get the idea - it's the 5th running of this event)
