Hey All,

I just purchased my first BMW.  It is a 1991 BMW K100RS.  I am new to riding.  I hope I didn't bite off more than I can chew.  LOL!  I guess only time will tell.  I fell in love with the bike the first time I saw it.  The mileage is just over 39K. Looks well kept and I am the third owner.  I hope to get it out on the road soon.

Best Wishes,
Kenny

Looks to be in great condition.

Ohlins too....

Most important thing for a nOOb to remember - only use the rear brake at parking lot speeds, especially when turning.

Read this. It's very good: http://classickbikes.com/ckb.tech/0.ckb.tech.files/fullcontrol/fullcontrol.htm

Best quote from it: "Your bike is very good at riding, so don't disturb it while it's doing its job."

Interesting to look at the differences. mine is also 91 RS, yours looks in very good nic, sidecovers and tank surround are different, but looks good, seat looks low and tidy.

Gary, yours has a comfort seat, the OP has a low seat, either recovered or a Corbin or similar.

Hey All,

Thanks for the warm welcome, it is very much appreciated.

Thanks for the link to the book, Duck!  I will definitely take a look at it.  I am through page 22 so far. Smile
Nice bike, Gary!  It's a Corbin seat.  The guy I bought the bike from did the upgrade.

I hope to be on the forum more frequently, asking silly questions.  LOL!

Stay safe all!  Thanks again for the warm welcome.

V/R,
Ken
