Hi all after my recent issues with no ignition (but working lights, indicators & horn) I rather embarrassingly discovered a fuse I had "checked" was the issue. The 7.5a fuse no.1 at the top of the block was replaced and hey presto all as well. In the perfect life that would be me happy ever after. In real life I now have another issue to stretch the grey stuff. Fuse no.1 has blown twice now & I lose engine cranking plus all instrument gauges - fuel & temp. plus gear indicator, neutral light etc. When the fuse is replaced I have most things working ok except headlight/rear light other than parking lights front & rear at key position 1 (high beam flash does work from left switch gear). I also only have a rear brake light when operation the rear foot brake. I will definitely be double checking fuses this time but in the meantime I would value any suggestions as to the sequence of I should take to find the faults. I am a bit daunted by electrics but will to have a go if I can work to a simple description. So to summarise what I am trying to fix:
1. Fuse 1 blowing
2. Headlights not working
3. Brake light not working from hand brake lever
Hail to the electrical gurus who inhabit this forum ! Thanks in advance.

To narrow it down a bit, does the fuse blow as soon you turn on the ignition or when you switch on a consumer.

Most likely a problem in the RHS switch assy (you have turned on the light switch?), but could also be the related connector under the tank.

Most likely the switch itself...remove the front brake lever, spray the switch plunger with WD40 or similar, exercise the plunger in and out several times... repeat if neceserry....sometimes this is all that is needed.

Hi thanks for responding. The fuse last blew while I was riding the bike but it seems they do not blow as soon as I turn on a consumer I just havent noticed a pattern yet. I will try cleaning switches as recommended I have had tank off already and cleaned disconnected and sprayed with WD40 all connections I could see. Do you know if fuse no.1 is correctly rated at 7.5a ? Thanks
