Here's another one.  A 95 K75S with only 1070 miles.  This one's been bid up to $5,800 already. (Reserve not met.)

Looks purty but how can you claim low milage in one sentence and the say the odometer is dodgy in the next.
My '85 odometer says 99850km. Been saying that since the day i bought it.

This is probably the longest running for sale going, it has been for sale since June 2009 and started at $7990 and has slowly dropped to the current price. I know one person who looked at it and apparently it is a good bike but rough and ready. Even the first model of the K1 aren't fetching that price for a good one.

Blame Jay Leno for this spike...

Actually the K1 is fast attaining 'collector' status - and sellers know this, apparently.

It's now had well over 19,000 views! I recall looking at that one a year or two back myself.

That white/blue colour scheme was always one of my favourites - and the first model (alongside the K1) with ABS! You know, I wonder if more than just the last several years they've been a bit overpriced, Down Under at least. I paid (gasp) about AU$5000 for my clean red RS five years ago. I shudder to think what I've spent to maintain and upgrade to the current specs since then. It'd be my most expensive motorbike of the many, all up. But I'm glad I did. I can't wait to get home and ride her in a month's time.

IMO the 85's should be in the price range of $3000 here in the U.S. (except when they get upwards of 100K miles).

I still think it's a buyers market right now, but sellers always try to get you emotionally attached.

So long as one can buy a newer K bike for around $4000, I don't see the value of the '85 rising anytime soon.

There's no way I'd pay a premium for an earlier model.  The later ones are better in many ways.  The only thing that makes an early attractive here is that the early ones are now becoming eligible for historic rego (cheap).  30yrs for NSW, 25 yrs for some others.

That cafe/bobber/scrambler is a joke.  Cut the bike up, remove the front guard, change the headlight and seat, mount the handlebars at an unusable angle and ask twice as much as it would be worth as an original.  Not a chance.

Al
