was a good reminder that we have an "alpine rally " out here

and I remember a few hardy souls posting of the most recent event, rick, gaz  and rossco  to name a few

but a very different event  and just something I thought was pretty interesting

heres a link to the web cam ( updated every 60 seconds ) active at the moment  31-01-15 ...but not sure for how long

My best friend is there at the moment but I haven't had his usual wind-up phone call from Bavaria this year. He lives in Dorset on the south coast of England and it still takes him seven days to do the rally. I've promised both myself and him that I'll do it once I've built my K-trike, but it will take me ten days because of the extra sea crossing from Northern Ireland to Great Britain and the four-hundred miles from my house to his. I'll see him at the Dragon Rally next weekend.

I did the Elefantentreffen in 1975 on an old r50/2
It was cold and we got a lot of snow but it's something that I will never forget.
At the time, the rally was held at the Nuerburgring and the night time run on the track was very impressive. Every rider was holding a torch.
If you have the opportunity to go there, don't miss it! This is as good as going to the Isle of Man race.

Now its an old 50/2 on a K75.....

Its on my list and would love to do it and I have been using the RT all winter. Staying warm on the K doesn't seem to be a problem, its the staying upright troubles me.
