Hi guys

I was suspicious recently that my ABS wasn't working so I removed faring, removed clock, found previous owner had removed ABS fault bulb, I replaced this reassembled fairing. Switched ignition on ABS light on dash flashes, ticking under tank, pressed ABS button on fairing ABS light on dash goes solid ticking under tank stops, so what next, fault light works button on fairing works.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Pat.

Hello!
You will have to reset your ABS 1 The correct way.
Make sure the ABS switch works correct on the dashboard!!!
The wire on my switch was loose, I had to solder it, otherwise the reset wouldn't work.
What you did is not a reset.

Have a look if the ABS box, if it's still in the trunk behind the seat, you can easily take it out and have a look at it, two screws. Should be ABS 1 and the sub number 1.5 or 2.5, on the picture is 1.5.

If it works again you will have to test use it periodically once a month so it gets flushed, so that the break liquid moves!, I allways brake front and/or rear breaks on  rough surface with a lot of stones, so that The ABS will come in/work at the speed of 10kmh, don't try it with higher speed on a normal street.

Here is how to:

Read carefully
http://www.largiader.com/abs/absfault.html

Watch carefully a few times
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rsrrpbb4kJc

I it works fine, you'll have to move/drive 5kmh so that the ABS light turns off, give use the error number 1 - 7
Normally the hardware is OK, it only needs a correct reset.

You probably will have to get deeper into the ABS, where are the sensors, where is the ABS Box, what are the "Coke" cans doing on the left and rigth side of the bike, all blue cables on the bike are for ABS.

There must be a reason the previous owner turne the ABS flash light of?!

Cheers
