Hi everyone, hope you all had a good christmas.I am putting my K100 LT 1988 back together and
have one earth wire I can't remember where it hooks to. It starts at the earth cluster under tank
on LHS and runs to front of bike. If anyone could tell me what it hooks onto would be much
appreciated. Have attached pdf of wire at cluster. Many thanks, Wes,

Is it a black wire with a 4mm eye if so it goes onto the master cylinder (under one of the three small Allen head bolts) so as to provide an earth path in certain fault circumstances. If it is not there the current will run on the throttle cable and damage the liner when it gets hot.

Glad you've got it sorted. When you have a part number as shown in your image link, check an online catalogue such as www.realoem.com/bmw and type in the last 7 digits where directed and as shown, p/n 2 303 023. Follow the highlighted blue link against your bike model and up it comes as a heated grips earth wire. Of course there are times when a part is used on multiple models and locations, but this helps track it down a bit.

Happy New Year!
