Trying to remove the center stand but having a hard time getting the bolts out.  I've got the right size hex bit but it just wants to strip - seems like the bolt it siezed.

Somebody told me to jam some valve grinding compound in there and it should help the bit catch/grab the hex hole better.  I'm going to try that but just looking for any other tips from people who have removed it before (to fit the wider K1100 stand, etc).

Thanks!

You need to heat the bolts, they are secured with Loctite.

Use a good Allen wrench (like the one in the factory tool kit) and a cheater bar to get some leverage.

I've stripped my share of Allen heads on K bikes but never a center stand one.

I struggled with mine but then a complete assembly came up from Sherlocks.....so WD40 in copious quantities and just unbolted the 4 bolts. It's still in my shed but needs welding.
