Does any one know if the dealers would still stock a rubber heat shield mounting bolt from a K100. My heat shield was rattling and I found out that the front rubber mount is torn. Do you think it needs the rubber or could it be solid mounted?

That piece would still be available, but check the other bike sites to see if it's any cheaper (Max BMW, Motobins etc).

I would think that it needs to be rubber mounted to absorb some of the vibration. If it's solidly mounted, it may fracture.
