So I often read words from forum friends singing the praises of this magical elixir and so went about finding some myself. It seems it's pretty rare here in the UK. And bloody expensive - though I'd read that too.

One place that sells it is an audio shop and so I emailed them asking their advice which would be better value for money - the aerosol or the drop bottle. They came back today to advise that they don't recommend using DeoxIT on anything other than hifi.

Hmmm. I was enquiring about the D5 - that's the right stuff isn't it? 

And do you guys use the spray or the drops?

there different varieties of the Deoxit, D5, F5, D100L, etc...

I would recommend the 25ml needle applicator bottle of the D5 or F5.
The spray can was infrequently used and lost its pressure.
Needle tube made for easier to reach application and just a few drops required.

D5 spray doesn't need gravity to get into some of the places where I use it.  If you have a recently purchased bike, buy a spray can , then remove the tank and fairing and shoot every electrical connection on the bike including the handlebar, ignition, and gear position switch internals.  One can should be enough to do the entire bike with a bit left over.

You will then have gone a long way toward making the bike as reliable as new one.

While you're at it, get some electrical connector grease and put a tiny bit on every connection after you clean it with the Deoxit.  That will keep any water that might get in from causing corrosion.  An artist's paint brush and toothpicks make it easy to work the grease into the connectors, getting a light film on the blades.

Let us know if you find a good reseller Bonzo, I keep thinking about getting some of this as my K is running increasingly rich (45MPG, it used to do 55!) and no doubt part of that will be due to corrosion on connectors. It'd pay for itself in the long run..

Aside from random vendors on eBay and Amazon, you could always get some from HotRox in Nottingham.

A spray tin of D5 from HotRox is £19.95. The cheapest I'd seen it was £27. Thanks Laitch. It's great that youre in the US and can direct us Brits to the best local deals  

I actually have plenty of ACF-50 which is touted as good for electrical connection. Would the DeoxIT D5 still be better I wonder?

ACF is Anti Corrosion Formula, I believe its original use was to fill electrical connectors so that water couldn't get in and corrode the contacts. So De-Oxit first, then ACF.
