People in OZ have gone bonkers big time. Due to the COVID 19 virus people have been panic buying on, hand sanitizer, paracetamol and food staples like rice and pasta. The weird one is they are panic buying on Loo paper stripping the shelves bare and actually having brawls over it. Somebody was selling it on eBay for $100.00 per roll. We refused to panic buy until yesterday when we got down to the last couple of rolls and realized none of the supermarkets had any. Coles this morning had six four packs left and a limit of one pack. At the rate we're going loo paper is going to be the next big investment.
Regards Martin.

Increase consumption of XXXX until the problem goes away, you don't need dunny paper when you're only drinking, so saves on paper.

The more you drink,  the more you save.

Every time a big snow storm blows through these parts everyone makes french toast and gets diarrhea(it's the only way to explain the frantic buying of eggs, bread, milk, and toilet paper).

I wonder what percentage of the world doesn't use date roll at all?

Recently, while on holiday in India, I satisfied my curiosity and used the arse gerni beside the toilet. Not sold on the idea ... yet. But I'm sure on can be rigged up quite quickly. Unfortunately, our water pressure is very strong. The potential for disaster is obvious.

This appeared in the local gumtree listings

Sometimes I would have tequila in between beers, well known for its cleaning properties, didn't have to clean the dunny then,  didn't even need dunny paper then too.

Hey, some Aussies may have lost the plot in panic buying loo roll (which you apparently get from Chyner, hence the ilkely shortage)
But we British Numbskulls...well we've gone and got a copycat shortage, 'cos we're panic buying - because of the Ausssie shortage. Never mind the too-difficult-for-morons-to-process fact, that in the Uk we tend to make our own loo roll.

We need more Darwinism, quick.

There is something like that within the land warfare centre just behind the Gold Coast.
It not as big or as dangerous as the one's found in the Far North, but I can state that walking into one in the middle of the night whilst on a stupid Army exercise  is very painful.

Rather find a gully full of  "Wait- a- While " than that sting bush ever again

K&N filters last for a long time at the condition you maintain them and oil them regularly.
I was told that cannabis oil reduces the maintenance frequency.

Just been out to get a single loaf of bread to make sarnies for lunch tomorrow. Every shop for seven miles around looks like it's been hit by a tornado; no bread, no bogroll, no this, no that. Empty shelves from front entrance to back storeroom.

Excuse my French but...

What a bunch of fucking TWATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do they REALLY think that there won't be any deliveries tomorrow????????????? I hear calls for some form of rationing to be implemented. That's going to be a damn waste of time too: if the cretins are restricted to two loaves of bread on one shop, they're just going to head down the road and hoover up two loaves in every shop. All THAT means is that it will take the vultures slightly longer to clear the shelves.

So; forget buying bread and buy a breadmaker instead. There's now a ONE MONTH lead time on delivery for most makes from Amazon!!!!!!! Check the local suppliers (Argos, Lakeland, etc.). TWO month lead times.

I'm angry because we rely on the local shop. The nearest town is six miles away and, because they've wiped out all the shops in town, they now come out here and leave us with NOTHING. I know it's the bloody townies because I spent some time talking to one of the shop assistants up the road. She said there were queues waiting to empty the shelves (at the time she was refilling the loo roll shelves for third time that day) and she didn't recognise just about all of the faces.

Effing LOCUSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SWMBO just came back from our once a week grocery shopping. Coles was apparently packed with Lemmings and shelfs are being stripped. No tissues except for Aloe Vera, noodles, pasta sauce,  2 Lt chocolate milk, hand wipes, limited cleaning products. There was one brand of toilet paper but going fast.  We also get some food at Aldi but frozen food section stripped pretty bare, all toilet paper gone. At this stage we are still refusing to panic buy, we have had to change some brands, but so far we are coping.

We are having a meeting at the Trades Guild tomorrow to discuss Covid 19. The whole town is run by the YMCA and they are proposing shutting down the whole site on Sundays. This is  due to all the visitors to the Sunday markets and shops and trade displays. Along with the other shops and trades they have suggested we should also consider closing the guild until the crisis is over. I think there will be a fair bit of resistance to closing it to the members, we'll have to see.
Regards Martin.

Now where's the petrol so I can self isolate.

The cause of the shortage has been found.

Every time someone coughs, six of the idiots shit themselves.

Heard on the radio last night that two brothers in Chattanooga, Tennessee had, I think, 18,000 bottles of hand sanitizer they had bought up from every store within 100 miles of where they lived.

https://newschannel9.com/news/local/report-two-chattanooga-brothers-stockpile-thousands-of-bottles-of-hand-sanitizer

We had our Covid 19/Zombie Apocalypse meeting yesterday morning. Park management at this stage is going to keep the park open. Guild members have decided to leave attendance up to the individual. Our resident industrial chemist has informed us that the alcohol based hand cleaners are ineffective as the virus has a fatty coating that is not effected by alcohol. Apparently he reckons Dettol and Pine O Clean  are the best along or any cleaner that turns white when mixed with water or good old soap and water.
Regards Martin.

Here in Nova Scotia (Canada) we are slowly going toward a lock down even if we only have 3or 4 confirmed cases.
I personally praise our government to be pro-active and not just reactive.

If they waited until now then they're being reactive, not proactive. It was detected in early January (according to China) and started spreading quickly thereafter.  Even the US ban of travel from China at the end of January was reactive.

How could I forget Dick's!? I guess because I don't eat hamburgers (Communist, I know!), but their fries are pretty good. The one on 45th Ave near the university is right next to Thackeray Place, my surname. I s'pose that's the best connection to them for me.

Thanks for sharing that information Rick. I went to Coles at 7 this morning with all the other oldies to shop and the line up was about 200 people long . Security was allowing people in only if people who had shopped were coming out. Apparently one bloke waited 50 minutes for his turn and found most of the shelves bare. I couldn't be bothered waiting any longer. I have heard of paper warfare, but this is simply stupid. Evil or Very Mad

It’s true, we are all going mad.

UK is now on a virtual lockdown as PM ordered all schools, pubs, bars, restaurants, gyms etc. to shut down. Many workers told to work from home where ever possible. Chaotic in the shops as hoarders and panic buyers strip the shelves bare of goods almost as soon as they are restocked.

I normally do my weekly shop on a Saturday at 07:00 in my local 24hr supermarket, but hours gave been cut to 06:00 - 22:00 to give the staff a fighting chance of restocking over night. Went in this morning just before 06:00 and joined a long queue. Limited to max 3 of any one item to try and prevent hoarding and many aisles barricaded at one end to stop a complete free for all. Even so, stupid, selfish behaviour was rife - families shopping in groups taking 3x 10kg bags of rice, 3x 3kg bags of pasta and 3x 24 packs of loo rolls each. Who the “f” needs 30 kg of rice and 72 bog rolls?! I’m truly sorry to reflect that most (but not all) of the poor behaviour was coming from our ethnic majority (it is Bristol, after all). I have rebranded them as ‘locusts’ since that’s what they resembled - a swarm stripping the shelves bare and then probably moving on to the next superstore to do the same.

I suppose one silver lining of this global lunacy, on a K bike you can take to the open road and self isolate / social distance yourself that way. No fuel shortages - yet, but need to take own food & refreshment and accommodation (tent) if going going further afield.

Perhaps I should enhance one of my bikes with spikes, knives and flails in a mad max-esque style, just in case things get worse?

Be safe out there y’all - especially you wheezy old fellas. Normal service will be resumed sometime before the K bike celebrates its 60th anniversary!
lol!

Just took the bike (K12) for a 200kms ride.
It was a bit cool (5 degrees max) and very windy (Gusts up to 50km/h) but it felt soooo goood!
For the last 2 weeks, I have put myself on social distancing and working on the bike is what keep me sane.
I just hope that we won't reach the point where travel will be banned. If it's what we have to do, I am prepared to accept it without conditions.
I already have a contingency plan.... Work on the 2 K100s and the K75.
I should be out of the man's cave in 3 or 4 months. lol!
