Got the wrong fluid from amazon. Is fork oil the same as shock fluid? ( think I know the answer)

A quick check says yes, they are the same.

I used to use ATF for front forks back in the day when I was permanently penniless as it was the equivalent of 15 weight, but not quite as froth resistant.
