Hi my clymers book has no torque value for the big bolts, on the out put shaft, on the motor I need both ends.

I was there to , with the locktite on, an no torque value for the bolts, had to run in and google it. not listed in the Clymers.

just realized that was me!!!

thanks, your link had a value of 40 ft-lbs...seems right, was a bear to take off. assembly will be sometime next week. can't wait to get the bebuild going.

that baby is in there pretty deep, good luck, go slow when you put it back, I set the wrench to the wrong torque, but caught it in time.

thanks for your replies, yankeeone. did you replace the bearings while you had the shaft out? only about 110$ so seems a good thing to do. have replaced every seal and piece of rubber so far..getting costly

I had to change over the big bearing any way because my block was old style I did switch to a new one but the old style was only 35.00


the output shaft I bought was in really good shape
so I didn't replace the rear bearing.

I see there is a new link for the output shaft above, it calls for 29ft pounds on those bolts, the 40 you quote is nms
