how do you tell a 8 from a 16 without pulling the top off?

Hi to all

Please can someone explain how to tell the 8 valve to 16 valve ? I want to order a service kit (from motowerks?) but cant find anything to tell the difference..Am I just being blonde?

the camshaft covers have noticeably a more rounded shape ,,,the 8 valve cam covers are quite squarish

Welcome Bigtel!

Charlie allready given a description on the rear end of the valve cover.

Would add that 16V`s have the letters "4Valve" at the spark plug cover.
4V`s got three spoke rims, 2V`s got Y spoke rims.

If you include the last 7 digits of the VIN # as a signature, we will be able to tell you the model, date of fabrication, type of engine,.....
