I'm losing patience with the mirrors on the RS. Every time I cover the bike up or brush past it, you can bet a weeks wages the mirror will drop off. I've tied a piece of twine to stop it falling to the ground. Those silly clips are a real pain. Anyone have a suggestion other than sticking them in place with Tiger Seal.

Replace the clips in the mirror housings - 3 per side - BMW part 46631455047.

I use stainless steel fishing leaders for mirror "leashes."

Hi BobW,
Motobins have the clips at £1.20 each. Also check the mounting plate 'knobs', if the mirrors have been off so regularly, they may be worn. (Bins have the mounts as well).

I've found them for 80p each inc vat at Motorworks BMW . I'm thinking of tethering them with a strong spring too Laughing

When bikes get dropped that can bend the plate the pegs for mounting the mirrors on with the result that they pop off too easily, just checks that is not the case and as you plan do fit the tethers.

G'day BobW , another method is to attach 2 or 3 mm shock cord ( elastic cord ) from one mirror through the fairing then fasten to the other mirror pod , this is what I have done and is non conductive as well

Last night the high winds took the cover off the bike and obviously the mirror was on its lead. One clip missing is the only damage. (the falling chimney pot just missed the bike)
6 new clips ordered and I get a free key fob ias well Wink l
