I'm Hugh from Suffolk England; lived here for some 15 years , longer than I've lived anywhere.
Been a biker most of my life, first bike BSA C11G, 250cc single, year 1954. Remember it well, flat out down hill with a tailwind 63 MPH max indicated with oil on my boots. With the passage of time there followed more BSA, Matchless, Ariel, Nortons but never my dream machine a HRD Vincent. With the arrival of the Japanese machines, Honda and mainly Kawasaki. We , that's the royal we, called them Tupperware machines, but my boots were clean! In 1984 bought a K100RS, May 15th 1984; loved it and still do. For a variety of reasons let it stand for some 12 to 14 years. Some 18 months ago decided it should be back on the road. I'd rebuilt British bikes why not a BMW? Fuel injection,ride by wire, not a clue. After a month or more still couldn't get it started, the fuel pump worked on the bench but not in the tank. Found a "paper" by one Crazy Frog who showed a layout diagram of the relay box .... it differed from the BMW Repair Manual. They, BMW were wrong! the bike is up and running ready for the winter when I will start a major overhaul, just for fun. Have had great fun and some stress in getting it running, and have learnt so much; decided to join this Forum hoping that I can give a little, if only confidence, and take a little, have so much to learn.
