I am reinstalling my fairing after having it all repainted. I made notes as I was disassembling, but I didn't right down the specific order, so I am just trying to figure it out by reading the directions in reverse, but that can be very time consuming. Does anyone have this documented that they could share?

Thanks!

I have been doing this on my RS for the past couple of days, what a nightmare. From memory this is how I've done it:

1) Slap the big front bit on (and plug the bulbs in). Also pull the indicator wires out through the rubber bits, as you won't be able to get to them later.
2) Slap the weird black metal brackety things in which may or may not hold the fuel and temperature gauges (depends if you have them). The front of them fit under a screw right near the screen, you'll find it eventually! Screw into place.
3) Wrestle the "dashboard" into place between the screen and the clocks, and screw into place on the black metal brackety things. You can now also fit the naff triangular trim bits next to the screen as they lock in with the dashboard. Or is it the other way around?
4) Loosely fit the side panels to the big front bit, you need them to be able to move around. You can also try and fit the weird chin spoiler/horn noise directer thing.
5) Waste fruitless hours trying to force the radiator trim panel into place and have the holes line up with the side panels - this is why you need them loose. The bit of windscreen wiper blade goes on the underside and "seals" in the indentations of the engine, a flat blade screwdriver is helpful.
6) Do it all up. Try not to break too many things. The bigger bolts fit the lower side panels to the weird flappy things on the engine, the screws just go wherever they are happy. Nothing will be correct by this age, so don't worry if it doesn't look right.
7) Fit the silly knee guard things and try not to scrunch the lower side panel too much when you put the bottom screw in. There are also the indicators to shove on but that can be done whenever you like.

Congratulations, you passed the test! Or you've decided it's better naked anyway. This might not be exactly the correct way but it worked for me, only one mystery plastic washer left over. But there was only ever one, so I have no idea where it came from!

Does the headlight on a K100RS mount directly to the front fairing? It doesn't mount to the frame, correct?
